It is scalable, elastic, open and flexible making it suitable for any company of any size. This means that, for example, if the customers computing or storage needs change, the cloud can be quickly scaled up or down – no setup or installation is necessary. And you only pay for what you use. It is an open product that can connect to many data sources (on-premises or in the cloud). It has various components that helps customers achieve business outcomes. Virtualization enables a real-time virtual data access to various source systems. In this scenario, data is left in the source (not moved and duplicated) and only accessed remotely when needed. Replication lets you transfer data in real-time or in a scheduled manner for high-speed access to data that may have large volumes or reside in sources which offer less access speed. Third-party APIs allow external data movement tools like SAP Data Intelligence and others to connect and bring data out of a variety of sources into SAP Data Warehouse Cloud.
SAP BW to SAP Data Warehouse Cloud
SAP offers the possibility of a tool-supported move of SAP BW or SAP BW/4HANA investments to SAP Data Warehouse Cloud, SAP BW bridge. For SAP BW systems on releases from 7.30 to 7.50 (running on SAP HANA or Any-DB) and SAP BW/4HANA 2021, a shell conversion can be performed.
Remote Conversion to SAP Data Warehouse Cloud
Remote Conversion is offered by SAP to convert an SAP BW or SAP BW/4HANA system into SAP Data Warehouse Cloud. It enables customers to move whole data flows or transfer only selected data flows including data. Customers can decide whether they want to build a clean system, leave old and unused objects behind. For SAP BW systems on releases from 7.30 to 7.50 (running on SAP HANA or Any-DB) and for SAP BW/4HANA 2021, a remote conversion is planned.
